ABC RADIO TO HIGHLIGHT LANGUAGE AND CULTURE PDF Print E-mail
As their contribution to this year's NAIDOC Week (7-14 July), ABC Radio has chosen to feature Language and Culture in a range of displays, functions and programming. Marceline Burns, Publicity Officer with the Aboriginal Broadcasting Unit, ABC Radio, said that the current revival in Indigenous languages had prompted their choice.

ABC Radio has decided on various themes for NAIDOC Week (National Aborigines' and Islanders' Day Observance Committee) with the period 1994-2004 being the United Nations' International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples.

Marceline will be calling for contributions from Language Centres and related organisations around the country. She can be contacted on 02 3332699 (Tues. Wed. & Thurs.), or by fax 02 3332700.
