Women's Infolink, the Community Service arm of the Queensland Government's Office of Women's Affairs, is taking steps to welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to the centre, and has researched traditional greetings from a number of language areas in Queensland.
A greeting board, to be displayed in the office foyer, will carry welcoming messages in 35 non-English languages, including 7 from Queensland language regions.

The greetings in Jirrbal, Gungari, Guugu Yimithirr, Djabugay, Kala Lagaw Ya, Meriam Mir and Yugambeh also feature in Women's Infolink's homepage on the World Wide Web. This entry, located under "Welcome", expands the greetings to give a literal meaning, as well as notes on thelanguages and the areas from which they've come.
