Talk with Dave Nathan at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander Studies and you quickly find yourself in the world of webs. nets and cheeky talk-back screens.

In a tiny pigeon hole that passes as an office, Dave has been developing a range of simple education programmes, which could be adapted for use in language centres across the country.

The beauty of these systems is that they incorporate sound and can he altered to teach in
any language. The user is required only to provide the written words and record the sound on tape.

The programmes which have been produced have potential for much broader development and will depend on the interest, of the user groups in exploring these resources.

If you would like to discuss the educational programmes or find out more about what is available from AIATSIS, contact Dave Nathan on 06 246 1166.
