Needs Analysis reports come in PDF Print E-mail
Survey forms which were distributed last year by ATSIC for the Needs Survey of Community Languages have been returned from most centres, and a consultant has begun the process of collation.

Information for the survey has been gathered from language communities throughout Australia with the aim of providing information on the status of indigenous languages and maintenance activity - language centre and project work, recording, broadcasting, school and publication programs, translator and interpreter services.

FATSIL delegates in Canberra established a task force to consult with ATSIC in interpretation of the data and to ensure that the final report reflects the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective.
