Merni Lardil Kangka Leman! Listen to the Lardil language!
This will be the language name for a learner's guide to Lardil that is currently being created by Ngakulmungan Kangka Leman, working with linguist Anna Ash.

It will be made up of a booklet and cassette tapes, which will help people learn to speak more of the Lardil language. In the booklet there will be pictures by children and local artists.
Later this year we hope to get out bush for some language camps and also have some workshops on using the learner's guide.

The main language speakers working on this project are:
Gladys Goodman, Kenneth and Juliana Jacob, Andrew Marmies, Cyril Moon, Clara Reid, Elsie Roughsey and Lindsey Roughsey.

Funding for this worthwhile language maintenance project has come from the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies AIATSIS.
