The faxes and letters come from everywhere - Spain, Japan, Malibu, Berlin, Cornwall, even Hawaii. But our favorite so far has to be from a lovely young German man, who visited Australia a few years back, and since then has been so taken with the culture that he wants the name under his newest tattoo to be in an Australian indigenous language.

He has chosen a surf scene for this piece of body art, has sent a list of possible titles and asks 'Could someone help with translation?'

What a trusting soul! Just imagine what he could end up telling the whole world if the job was taken on by someone with a wicked sense of humour.

And how do you reply to the French café owner wanting an Australian indigenous translation for Brandy Truffles?

Guess we'll just have to tell him the dish never really took off over here and the name seems to have dropped off the popular word list!

Cheers till next issue.
