Mark Thomson
Mark Thomson is in the unique position of being the only student in the State of Victoria who came both first and last in a Victorian Certificate of Education exam - in the same subject!

With no-one else taking the exam for LOTE Australian Indigenous Languages, (Yorta Yorta) Mark could be sure of the top spot, but was thrilled to find that his results, when compared with those of students n other languages, earned him a nomination for the Premier's VCE Award for LOTE.

Mark has already received congratulations from the Premier's Department for his achievement, and waits now to see whether his name will be amongst the ten students, each from a different language area, who take out the awards.
Last year's school captain at Worawa College, Healesville, Marl: studied Yorta Yorta nd Northern Territory' Gupungpungya with 40 classmates at the school.

Adapting to the individual needs of the students, examiners made provision for Mark to complete his oral test through a telephone link-up with Arnhem Land. Mark rounded off his academic achievements with notable success as a basket-baller, and winner of the College Citizenship Award.
