Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is now calling for applications for the Research Grants Program 2002.The closing date for applications is 31 January 2002. All applicants will be informed of the success or otherwise of their grant applications in July 2002.

 

Funding for successful applicants will be available from August 2002. The Research Grants Program 2002 will fund research into a wide range of research areas in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, such as history (including family and community history), politics, law, public policy, health (social, cultural and environmental aspects), biological sciences, education, linguistics, social anthropology, archaeology and the arts. Within this wide range of research areas, applications in the special emphasis category of 'Governance and the Indigenous community' are again particularly invited for the Research Grants Program 2002, Please note.AIATSIS does not fund: publication or
production costs: returning materials to communities or repatriation of material; and research for Native Title claims. Refer to the
