If you need some extra incentive to get along to the AGM and Language Forum this year, how about the fact that it's being held right in the heart of Sydney, with plenty of exciting places to head off to in your free time. Or maybe tack some extra time on to your trip and have a good look around. The Mercure Hotel, where the conference will be, is only a ten minute walk to the shops and Darling Harbour, so whether you want to spend up or just have a look at the great scenery you'll be in the thick of it.

I've had a sneak preview of the exhibition that's featured on our cover and just want to add that it's a treat to hear the audio of language speakers, Lorna Blucher and Irene Ryder giving exhibition viewers some background to the Yugambeh and Gunggari languages. It's fantastic to think of the exposure this exhibition will give to languages, especially as its not tucked away in one of the dark unused corners of the museum, but just inside the entrance, where it can't be missed. Hopefully we'll see a lot more of these exhibitions in major venues, taking a direct approach to educating the broader public about languages.

Cheers,
Faith
