Aboriginal Elders' Voices - Stories of the 'tide of history' PDF Print E-mail

THIS new volume of oral histories from Koorie Elders is an honest and powerful retelling of the important stories that have shaped the history and culture of Aboriginal people in Victoria.

As summed up by contributor Uncle Les Stewart,"There's no bloody lies in it at all!" Reading the book, which covers also the impact of state legislation and policies, is to reach an understanding of how the life stories of many individuals come together to form the story of a nation.

There are many parts of these individual stories that the nation as a whole has not wanted to hear. The book is co-authored by The Aboriginal Community elders Service (ACES) and Kate Harvey.
